I have a jls hk33 and the garbox in it is broken and it is not posssible to get new parts for it as it takes a version 4 gearbox. I was just wondering if anyone knows where i could get a version 2 or 3 gearbox that would fit the gun? maybe from an mp5 or other hk33 models and what retailer would be willing to fit it for me and if i would have to get a new hop-up when the gearbox is fitted? Thanks

As far as I know if it takes a version 4 gearbox, then thats what you'll have to use. As not all gearboxes are the same size/shape. So usually only one will fit (without serious modding).

As far as I know the PSG-1 uses a version 4 gearbox so you could try searching for PSG-1 gearbox parts. *Warning* I have no idea if they'll work, but its something to look into.

Might be an idea to get on to a shop that does repairs to see if they could sort it out for you.

Wel there is no point in trying to repare the gearbox because it just keeps breaking. I dont think the psg-1 gearbox fits my gun and it would be to hard to soarce. Do you or anyone else know if the gearbox in a G3 of any kind would fit the gun and if i would have to get a hop-up and barrel along with it?

    Gearbox version information:
    http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/?filnavn=/articles/21c/gearboxes.htm

    or

Looking at them - it doesnt look like a V3 will fit in without some serious receiver modifications and even then I doubt it would work.

I doubt anyone would have even tried/bothered this in the past.
I'd imagine the cost, risk and hassle would make this job a non-runner.

Sorry not to be any help.:(

If that is the clone of the KSC hk33, then it is proprietary.

Does it have a pre-cocking gearbox?

They are meant to be tough to get spares for.

Thankes for your opinion. Anyway my version 4 gearbox looks very different to the gearbox in the psg-1. Also do you or anyone else not think that a G3 gearbox might fit it because a G3 body looks the same as a hk33 body.
Here is a pic of the gearbox: btw it is the top gearbox

Hi stercus, yes it is a ksc hk33 clone by JLS. Also what do you mean by "proprietary"

Unique, they have a once off gearbox design.

You should contact WGC shop, they stock them and are good for getting parts, get a techy to have a look at it first to figure out the problem.

Saying that, with some effort you could mod a gearbox into it with a new hop up unit, but would be a tough job and require plenty of research.
