    Hello all,

Firstly apologies if this is in the wrong form. Mods please move if it is better suited elsewhere.

    I'm putting this up for my girlfriend. Basically she was doing a search for GHD's online and came on the following website;

    http://www.ghdhairstraightenersireland.com/

The value seems almost too good to be true..! Has anyone heard of these guys or had any experience making purchases from them?

    Thanks in advance.

More suited to f&a I think.

Defo not a real site, far too good to be true. If she wants to buy it online, she can go to the real ghd site and they will give a list of online vendors of straighteners, that way she can be sure :)

Sceptical! I had a look because my trusty old GHD is on its last legs. Heres a quote from the shipping and tracking part

    4. Unsuccessful or Wrong Delivery

***We are not responsible for reshipment if you provided us an incorrect or incomplete address.

***If you’re refused to sign the order, we will charged 35% as handle fees; if the parcel was automatically returned after several times unsuccessfully delivery(due to you are absent or you provided a wrong or incomplete delivery address to us),we will require 35% as delivery fee

Smells of badly translated Chinese fake:)

    Thanks very much guys.!

That was our gut feeling and prompted this thread. Really appreciate the quick feedback.

Mods; Thanks for moving to a more suitable thread.

Ooh I would stay well away best thing you can do is go purchase from a salon like Peter Marks it's better than having those cheap ones explode while you girlfriend is styling her hair.

Go to the official GHD website. They have a website checker where you type in the suspect website and they tell you whether it's authorised or not. Try FeelUnique.com for cheap, real GHDs with free delivery.

I unfortunely tried to buy a ghd on this website. They took money off my credit card and days later my order is still "processing". Its definitely from China as I seen on my cc statement. At least I can warn others not to make the same mistake. Oh well...

You know the saying....If its too good to be true it probably is!!!

Nothing against you but you will never get a cheap UGG or GHD unless it's from the actual GHD website. Plus the URL is a huge giveaway it's fake.

Is there anything I can do if i order from the site? credit card company says I have to wait 30 days... What can they do after 30 days? they say "follow up" but what does that mean?

The checklist before buying from any consumer site:

The more of these the dodgier.

I think ASOS.com sell ghd's and they deliver to Ireland. Probably not as cheap as the Chinese imports but they're the real ones so worth it!
