New G36c

I bought an ASG G36c from MIA today, but since i couldn't pick it up myself, I couldn't ask the questions I meant to. So hopefully someone on here will help me out.

It's made by ASG, however I asked for the JG gun. I'm led to believe these are the same guns, just re branded for a different market of whatever? Any clarification would be great.

The battery I understand isn't the greatest of quality and I do plan on buying a better one in a week or so, but for the meanwhile how long should I charge it for? Its been on the the last half hour and I can feel the charger itself heating up, but the battery still remains at room temperature. So when will it be ready to shoot? And how long will I get out of it?

Being my first AEG, I'm still learning so any help would be appreciated.

I can't remember how long those chargers take, but for some reason the figure 6 - 8 hours is stuck in my head. So take that with a pinch of salt, but that's what I recall it being.

JG are indeed the manufacturer of the ASG G36, so no need to worry there. They are one in the same.

It would be in and around 6-8 hours alright but it solely depends on the mAh rating of your battery and the mAh output of your charger. We'll need to know those before we can tell you.

Or you could use this battery time calculator.

And as far as I know ASG is a rebrand of JG, but I think they changed a few parts in the gearbox. Not sure what parts or if its better/worse. But I doubt they'd go to the trouble of opening the gearboxes to make them worse ;).

For my JG G36k (same as g36c but longer) it ususally takes between 4 to 5 hours to charge the battery. The batter is a stock one at 1600 mah. The higher the mah on your battery the longer it will take to charge. Maybe this might help.

Yeah I ended up leaving it for 7 hours, took it out to test it and its been firing grand. Any one know how long it'll last?

Also regards the hop up; do I roll the barrel to the ceiling or the floor to turn the hop on. I havent had the chance to shoot it at its full range so its hard to tell if the bb is curling up or down

    thanks for the replies
