    to the rest of us?

I'm genuinely curious. And entirely uneducated in this area, so if you are looking at this question as if it is the stupidest question you've ever read, just let me know the relevant law ........

My reason for asking this question really is the injustice I see in for e.g. the Taoiseach and his ministers even if potentially 'sacked' from their posts i.e. not voted back in, they don't seem to be treated as such.

For e.g. If I was fired from my job, I wouldn't retain certain pension entitlements, I would have to sign on for JobSeekers Benefit/Allowance, incur a waiting period and then receive the dole.

The other e.g. that's bothering me is the green party TD's resigning. Again, if it were me who resigned, because I didn't like how the company was working, I'd have another waiting period, sign on for JSB/A, incur a waiting period and then receive the dole.
Are the Greens resigning from their posts or just from the government? I.e. Will they remain TD's even though not part of the government?

My other gripe is, should someone (or a lot of people) who have cost a very small country 10's of billions of euros (lost the money, gambled it, whittered it away or whatever) not be held in some way accountable, in addition to being HOPEFULLY voted out of government?

The above may seem like very simplistic and probably obvious questions to a lot of you, but I'm genuinely curious as to whether there are specific parts of the constitution which affords them some protection...... Do they sign an 'employment contract' kind of thing? Or is it written into law some other way?

    Thanks
