If it still works, you can put it up on dublinwaste.ie or gumtree.ie or adverts.ie to see if someone will take it off your hands for free. You should put the ink cartridges up there anyway to make sure someone uses them.

If you're buying a new printer, it is possible that the shop is obliged to take back your old printer under the EU WEEE electrical waste recycling rules.

Alternatively, bring it to your local waste point. www.citizensinformation.ie should tell you where your nearest one is.

If the printer is in good working order, they might be able to use in the 3rd world.

Contact these folks http://camara.ie/web/ they might be able to put it to good use.

There is a WEEE recycling place in Parkwest in Dublin.
