best way of getting vocals out a track

    i know i want get them completely out but the best i have is recording a track with the mids down on my mixer :eek:

    Anyone any handy advice or that would do this for us, please and thanks

    You can do so pretty easily with Audacity (free editing software). Go to YouTube and do a search there and it'll explain it. It's not perfect but it's the best you're going to get. Depending on what you want to do with the track afterwards, it might sufficed. I've done singing gigs with a backing track with that on it and it hasn't been an issue.

    If you can find the instrumental, (assuming you can't find the acapella), you can get a good acapella from the track.

    In something like Audacity, put the original and the acapella beside eachother, exactly, so they play exactly together, and the waveforms are exactly matched up. Then invert the phase of the instrumental (you can do this easily with Audacity/Ableton etc), and it'll cancel everything except the acapella.

    As mentioned above i would also recommend Audacity.
