I am getting a 12 week blow dry, but i have been told by 2 different hairdressers that different straighteners need to be used.
One said titanium plates and the other said a ghd. I dont want to choose the wrong one and destroy my hair, help which one is right????

you won't destroy your hair either way - but if you use ghd the 12 week blowdry won't work. You need to use straighteners that go up to 230 degrees - ghd only go up to 190. You may be able to get a babyliss pair in argos cheap enough that go up to 230.

Surely the point of the 12 week blowdry is that you dont need straightners.

I think what the OP means is straighteners for actually sealing the 12 week blow dry treatment into the hair when getting it done.

But the 12 week blow dry isn't a straightening treatment anyway so if you had curly hair you would still need a straightener (temperature wouldn't be an issue).
It just acts as a defrizzer treatment for the hair so it cuts down on blow drying if you have unmanageable hair.
