Well people! I'm not sure about this course incase its more management orientated than practical. Although I would like to be in the motor industry it might not be the best place to go to for the future! Would a mechanical engineering course be better? I don't have honours maths so I cant do a level 8 in engineering.

    I'm in 3rd Year Level 7 Mechanical, DT006.

It's a good course and has plenty of variety. What exactly do you mean by the motor industry? Do you mean the like of working for BMW, McLaren, etc.?

If so, Mechanical Engineering would be a good place to start, but isn't directly aimed at that industry. It's a very wide degree, with a lot of scope for specialisation.

I think the Automotive Management Course is geared more towards garage management, but I honestly dont know.

The best thing you can do is give DIT a call, and ask if you could come in some day and get a better idea of what each course is like to help you better make up you mind.

Here's a previous post of mine on DT006.
I would say though, and this is purely based on your user name, "FocusRS" and a previous post of yours - this course is not about being a mechanic, or a car designer, or really anything about cars. (That may come later in your career if it's what you want to persue, I don't think this course would be a bad start tho.)

That said, the course is quite varied with labs and projects designing simple gearboxes and the like. (In first year, there's labs on a Tuesday afternoon where you do welding and machining - but its really for people who didn't do LC engineering.)

Here are most of the subjects we do:
