The Computer Forensics course

I'm looking to return to WIT next year, and while I'm almost certainly aiming for the Applied computing course, the Computer Forensics one looks intriguing.

However the information on the WIT website seems to be a bit vague on the details with no breakdown of how the course is structured and what skills are taught. I assume it's a new course?

Anyone on this course (or know about it) care to share their thoughts and opinions?

Im currently doing this course. However, i am a second year student in the 3 year honours degree program.

As of this year it has been changed to a 4 year honours degree program.

Its intensive enough, covering a wide area of computer skills and forensics.

In second year, we are covering advanced programming with java, legal principals, which is studying the law side of things, mathematics.... oh its advanced.... biometrics, we look at all the varieties of bio technology, including how they work etc. it really gets interesting and complicated, but its an amazing subject. we also are studying fraud auditing. We also study networking with the applied computing group, and this is an excellent module. it teaches you all about how, why the internet / lan works, and we use tools to analyse data sent over different mediums. I was in letterkenny for the first year, so i cant comment on what first year of this course is like.

overall, its an amazing course, it gets very indepth and if you have an interest, then its very worth while.
