    Hi all

Just a couple of simple questions -

1/ for streaming files from your pc do you need to have a wireless internet connection so that the media device eg Apple tv will pick up the pc?
2/ I presume the pc itself needs to have a modem of some sort to send the signal to the media device in the first place?
3/ I presume the pc has to be on all the time?

Just asking as I see a lot of media drives that can stream wirelessly and my broadband (or should I say midband) is mediocre at best

    Cheers

    1) You dont necessarily need wireless, they just need to be networked, this involves a router (Wireless or Wired).

    2) this is where the router comes in, if both devices are connected to it they will be able to connect to each other.

    3) The PC would have to be on anytime you are planning on streaming.

The broadband would not be used as its streaming across the local network not the Internet (Unless you need to stream over the internet, which would require a good internet connection, and more setup than over the local network)
