Help needed on transferring course.

    I'm studying Architectural Technology in DIT and am currently in 2nd year. I'm planning to study Architecture in DIT afterwards. Obviously it would make sense to finish this course first. However I have been told you need to pay 5,500/year for any subsequent course you do after getting a degree. I don't know for sure if this is true. I'm wondering is there any way around this because I simply can't afford that fee. Also I'd like to know is it possible to progress directly to 2nd year after DT105. Otherwise I'm going to apply through the CAO this year and hope for the best in the interview (though it could hardly go any worse than last time)

    You should contact the admissions office to ask about deferring.

    I'm unsure about whether you want to transfer from a level 7/8 to another 7/8 but I'm pretty sure that's possible.

    I transfered courses before and I had absolutely no problem with it. DIT were surprisingly helpful. I suggest getting an advanced entry form and submitting it. All you need to do is fill in what course your doing and the year your in and write a list of courses you want to transfer to and into what year. I had to submit it before Easter and then send my final grades for that year when I received them during the summer. You can send it or call out to the Rathmines office (not the college for music and such but the one down the road).
