Run on the Euro post Irish-bailout?

    Is it just me, or has anyone else looked into their crystal ball and seen a massive run on the Euro happen just before Xmas time?

    That would be a blessing I don't think we will be lucky enough to see. I think the ~$1.40 level is more likely to be the year end figure then parity. Don't forget Ireland is a dot in terms of GDP in euroland. You can use the € to buy all those beautiful German goods so a run will only happen once Germany leaves it.

    I dont really see that I think the US dollar is in worse shape which should take attention of euro

    The € is expensive and it hurts exports, especially when we are all trying to recover by exporting and the eurozone's trade partners all seem intent on printing more of their currency.

    The boost the eurozone received earlier this year was due to the low €, the eurozone could do with a repeat.
