    Hello,
The school in which I work are holding a retirement mass in a few weeks for two retiring members of staff.
I have been asked to find and read an appropriate first reading. I have been looking online and can't find anything suitable- a lot of death themed readings came out of a google search and I think thats far too morbid .
I would really appreciate anyones advice on what to read ??Are there any particular Bible readings based on working hard, rest, appreciation, etc(anything to do with retirement or teachers)
    Thanks

I'm looking for the exact same thing - also for a retirement mass. Does anybody have any suggestions, or did you find anything suitable? Thanks in advance :)

There are Masses for particular needs in the Roman Missal. Failing that, there is the Mass of the day. Ask a priest, since I don't think anyone on boards.ie has access to the Roman Missal! To be honest, I don't know what the rules are on this or on the selection of readings.
