    Hi All,
Moved in to a house recently which uses a bulk tank for Calor Gas. I think its LPG. The heating system is run from so it gives instant hot water when needed and also heats the rads.

On ringing Calor about it they told me that they will only deliver a minimum of 500e worth of gas. I am just wondering if there are any alternatives to this. IE Other supplier, someway to attach a cylinder to the system. I remember having a large red cylinder onetime that ran a fire and a cooker for me.

    Cheers for any help.

The red cylinder has the same gas in it as the big one in your garden. Another supplier is Flogas. Either way LPG is expansive so dont know if there is much difference between the two suppliers.

Thanks for your reply. There is little difference but Flogas wont filla Calor tank. They would have to install their own one.

Been a computer geek and not knowing to much about the ins and outs of heating systems, where could I get a connection to go from the red cylinder into my system. Presumably it would connect to the tank. Would this be a job that would need an expert and any idea of the cost of it?

    Thanks again,

Its not a diy job to change to gas cylinders and could cost several hunderd euro to get a professional to do it, if you put 500 euro of gas into the bulk tank the same amount in bottles will cost nearly 800 euro.

Cheers for that. Not just as easy as connecting the cylinder to the tank so. Just my luck.

As for the cost of the cylinders vs the bulk, the cylinders would be easier to budget for as Calor will only deliver 500e+.

    Thanks for everyones help.
