Did a rescan of a JVC TV which was working with an MPEG4 Cam.

Will no longer tune in other than the radio channels.

    What has happened?

RTÉNL have recently changed the description flags on the TV channels to prevent non-mpeg4 TV from scanning in the channels and avoiding the usual "I have sound but no picture" complaints

Unfortunately for you, your CAM is now completely redundant and you need to consider either a STB or a new TV. The CAM would have been useless for the RTÉ2HD service next year anyway.

I noticed that I have lost the TV channels also after a rescan. Has been bugging me for the last few days as to why. Thanks for the explanation Apogee.

I have been warning people for over a year about the CAM and picnic

The CAM is 1/2 of price of a proper set-box!

Nothing particularly 'Irish' about it. From an engineering perspective, what they have done is perfectly logical. Arguably, they should have done it sooner.
