    Hi, I am in the Donegal area and interested in starting an apprecnticeship as a mechanic. Just wondering if anyone knows how to get into it or what to do? As I havent the first notion.

    Call to you local garages. Try and speak with the Service Manager in bigger dealerships and the proprietor in smaller outfits. The garage will normally start potential apprentices on a trial basis. Once the person is deemed suitable the company will register the apprentice with FAS. Make sure that the company actually use FAS to certify their people.
