Does anybody know how much it costs to get the ambulance from dungarvan to waterford? I have to get to Ardkeen ASAP because the doctor said I might have a Retinal detachment.

as far as I know the omac ambulance works as a back up for the health board, tbh im surprised the doc didnt call you and ambulance or at least a taxi.

call a taxi or get someone to drive you will be alot quicker i reckon instead of waiting for an ambulance.

Im ringing about to see if I can get a lift. I am on the dole so Im not sure If I can pay for an ambulance. My brother said he can bring me in the morning , but hes been drinking already tonight. My sister might be able to bring me tonight.

im sure when you get the bill you will be able to sort out some sort of payment plan, your sight is worth alot more.

I can promise you you would be a lot more comfortable in a taxi, you need to be in the whole of your health to travel in an ambulance. Seriously though, good luck, I hope you get something organised.

My sister brought me up , but there was no eye specialist on duty so I had to be seen by a normal doctor. The normal doctor took a good look at my eye and said he didnt see a detached retina , but I have to go back down tommorrow morning to be seen by an eye doctor. The doctor told me he didnt see the cause of my symptoms. My brother will bring me to Ardkeen tommorrow morning.

Hopefully it'll be good news and that the doctor in WRH is right.

When I woke this morning the symptoms arent as bad as they were yesterday. My sister gave me Hay Fever medicine cause I had a Sinus headache. The headache is gone now and my sight is a good bit better. I think my problem is my glasses are scratched really bad. I will get new glasses next month when I can afford them.

Im still going to go back to ardkeen though just in case.

I don't wear glasses, but even I know wearing scratched glasses is not good for your eyes.
Your eye focuses to and then away from the scratch causing extra strain.

Don't have a link, just something I learned in an eye safety class. I wear safety glasses in work and never wear a pair that has even a small scratch.

Yes of course it it. Thats why the doctor told me to go to Ardkeen ASAP. He was worried that I might have a detached retina.

The problem is not from scratched glasses. I have the same problem with my sight when I am wearing my reading glasses which arent scratched and only four months old.

Even with my reading glasses on I am seeing a cloud around the outside of street lights and cars brake lights. I am also finding it hard to focus on anything with my reading glasses. So the problem isnt just from scratched glasses. They told me today its possibly my sinus could be causing the problem , but anatomically they didnt see anything wrong with the inside of my eyes.

I cant believe the Ignorance of some people. I wouldnt have posted this if I wasnt serious.

I know I did , but that was before I noticed the I was having the same problem with my reading glasses too. Aslo I idnt say that the exact problem was scratched glasses. I said I THINK it could be the problem , but it turns out I was wrong.
