Gravity of situation

It is a very serious situation the country is in. I really get the impression that a lot of people are really unaware of the seriousness. Our depsosits in the bank are still being questioned, we are definitely going to have tax hikes, the unions are still harping on about the CP agreement.

I am being over pesimistic because a lot of people seem to think it will be all right.

There will be a massive adjustment over the next four years with the bulk of that adjustment happening in the next 3 months.

Working in the Public sector is no longer a guaranteed cosy job for life. Public sector workers will now face uncertainty on the same level as the private sector workers have been dealing with for the last 2 years.

It will all be 'all right' in the sense that we won't degrade into a third world country with starvation and disease. At the same time, I wouldn't want to have taken out a mortgage later than 2003.

I was thinking the same, most people who are working at the minute do not know what it is like and how bad things are going to get here, example teachers, the teachers here have the most time off in europe secondary teachers only work 20 odd hours a week, they have ample time off during classes and they are the better paid teachers in europe, and when they do leave there job they have a very nice pension posted home to them each week
