    Hello,

I will be working in a hospital as part of my research project. So I have to sign confidentiality forms etc. I have been asked for a "Letter from local garda station confirming no convictions recorded. " Do I type this letter myself and get garda station to sign / stamp it? Is there some template that the garda station will provide?

Ive never heard of a letter like this I'd imagine what they mean is a Garda Clearance, the hospital will have the form. You fill in your PPS and every address that you have lived (since you were born, make sure there are no gaps),the hospital will send this off to be processed. it takes in around 12 weeks.

Seems strange cause if it were that easy to get a letter from local GS then there would be no need for the long winded Garda Clearance process??

A friend of mine moved to Australia and was asked by his new employer a Gardai Clearance before he left.He went to the nearest station,fill-up some details and asked to comeback after one week...DONE!
