does she have any substance or is she just a pretty face?

a dollybird who has risen above her station or a shrewd presenter, interviewer and writer?

Edit: Discussion of Irish TV presenters to be done here please. Do not start multiple threads.

Not even a pretty face. She was past her sell-by-date years ago. Not talented. How many presenters do you hear of TV3 sacking?

in a classic case of sour grapes she claimed she had been sexually harassed. i wonder how her book will fair? i for one can see it been offered at a reduced price.

she got enough media coverage for it at any rate. does not seem very professional as an interviewer from from I gleaned in the Mail on Sunday. arrives late to interview Simon Cowen, Starstruck when interviewing others.

I thought her having a go at Daniel O'Donnell on The Saturday Night Show was a cheap shot... I mean I'm sure if he actually had the guts to do a tell all book, he would be way down the list on the "bad guys" she's met... He's just one of the people that she can criticise without hurting her future career..

Yea Brendan o'Connor copped on that she was spoofing and just picking on a soft touch. It came across so desperate when she tried to nail DoD as some Prima Donna. Pot and kettle i reckon. She didn't like it when Brendan started asking her straight questions and she couldn't hide her uncomfortableness through her perma smile.

I thought she left TV3 to move to RTE. Didnt realise she was sacked. I always thought she would be perfect for Ireland AM, sat next to Aidan Cooney or Mark Cagney on the sofa, talking nonsense.

Pretty low having a pop at DoD on Sat night.

FFS, I thought this forum was for all things 'celebrity'...... next we'll be discussing Martin King (the weather man)!:D

She got a big frown on her face when he described the book as "nice"... She said "anybody can have a bad day", then ripped Daniell apart on his "bad day"... apparently if you dont fawn all over her, she finds it rude... I dont think she was Daniel's type...

    "Bleh".

I think that word about sums her up. Should have stayed on Radio. Especially a station I don't listen to.

didn't see her on tv last sat night. what were the straight questions?

well, then we shall set up a thread for celebrity wanabees.
after all, she is only a celebrity if Barry Egan of the Sindo decrees it so.

he saw through her. he is genuine. she isn't.

Lorraine Keanne AA Roadwatch. maye. just like Martin King can (more or less) do the weather, but anywhere else he is a disaster.

She made a big deal out of a alledged story that Michael Flattely tried to ride her in Vegas, asked her back to his room and all that.

FFS, Like Flately would get up on the "crack of dawn", let alone her.

Why? What's going on with the boul Martin King?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,371 ✭✭✭Fuinseog

what's the deal with this Baz guy (half Egyptian). he seems to have all the talent and insight of a big brother star, yet is getting maximum media exposure.
i watched a bit of his show 'extreme worlds', yet it seemed to be more about him and how difficult he found everything than about the people working in difficult jobs. as an interviewer he has a lot to learn, but maybe learning by doing is the way RTE wants to do things.

    Never understood his appeal.

"How Low can you Go" was unfunny crap. He wrote an article (or two) in the Day and Night segment of the papers which was unfunny crap and his new show was unfunny crap.

But then again.....RTE are commissioning his shows and they have a history of producing comedy that is unfunny crap.

    So he fits right in!

"Howerya, Martin King here. It's terrible snowy weather these days. And a big shout out to Ciaran, from Termonfeckin, who is six today. Happy Birthday Ciaran!" :D

where do they find these people? what is the guys background?
I know for TG4 you have to do a year long media course, before you can go in front of the camera.

okay, an ability to talk ****e is good and funny. hector does it well, but he is funny, while Baz is as I said like watching the people converse on Big Brother.

he has yet to attract Barry egans attention before he can become a star.

he was on the radio yesterday with Lucy kennedy. they are well suited.
maybe he will feature in a episode of living with Lucy. no real celeb would let her in the door.

I think they thought he could be the Irish Ross Kemp. His muscular physique suggests he could be tough, but the opposite is the case. i think he also featured in the ultimate volunteer show.

can she be taken seriously or is she more suited to talking about mickeys?

is she just one of a number of RTE stars, with no class?

would you let in her in the door if she wanted to live with you?

should she be given the boot and be replaced by someone like kathryn thomas? or does lucy appeal more to RTEs main target audience of 20 somethings?

in fairness to him he is pretty unique and gets your attention. the actual weather takes a backseat, but sure its self explanatory.

sorry about that. i wanted to discuss them individually so as not to stray from the topic and I thought that it would be appropriate given that this forum is largely dedicated to the stars.

    Please read the charter.

You've started 3 threads now, one after the other, basically asking "what do you think of X, Y or Z".. none of which have attracted a whole lot of discussion.. I could have locked them but I've decided to leave them here instead.

If you have an issue, please take it to PM.

he was on the radio yesterday. he was either trying to speak posh or its his real accent. I think he was in killnascully as the chemist who is always quoting English poets.
