Picked up 3 bling bling Pistols lately.
Socom Gear Limited Edition 24k Gold Plated 1911
    WE gold M92F
    Army Gold 1911/MEU

Socom Gear Limited Edition 24K Gold Plated aparently
there was only 500 released but I dont know if this is true or not. Also its advertised as being real gold plate worth a whole 30USD! and a unique serial number.

There appears to be two different versions.
One Made and sold under brandname WE which uses flat head screws on the pistol grip and a chrome coloured barrel.

The version I got appears to be made by WE and distributed by Socom Gear there are some subtle differences such as fancier screw heads, Rubber Grips rather than plastic grips, and a Black barrel with silencer adapter attached.

The Finish is excellent on the gun and very smooth, when
I took it apart it did get what looked like a gold flake crumble off part of the inside of the gun. Everything is smooth, nothing rattles, the Grips are a lovely soft rubber and dont feel like the cheap nasty plastic we usually see.
I also like the indented section where the slide locking pin is, it makes it easier when your removing the pin when stripping to push it from that side.

The silencer in the pic is from my P226 and for some reason photobucket decided to mess up the rotation of the 2nd pic even though its orientated the correct way at source.[EDIT fixed]

The silencer adapter screws onto the end of the barrel.
The Outer barrell is threaded internally to accept the adapter, and the silencer itself then is attached to the external thred of the adapter.

I must see about getting a few more of these for my other guns that have the outer barrels threaded on the inside.
    Img_1139.jpg

The end of the inner barrel has bee cleaned up nicely
where the end of it has been counter sunk slightly and polished. The inside of the barrell looked clean also and not dirty. Unlike some other guns where the brass barrel
    sometimes are more crudely cut.

When taking the slide off I did not really like the way the spring looked and how easy the spring guide can jump out.
But it does not appear to cause a problem when racking the slide. Also the hop up adjustment screw when I checked does not seem to visabily press down the hop up bucking into the barrel at all no matter how much you adjust it.
    Img_1142.jpg

When I was drunk last night and trying to strip it I was
used to taking the spring/guide and barrell out of the slide from the back of the gun, I was going nuts fiddliing with it trying to get it out, and eventually handed it to the girlfriend who had the barrel out in less than 5 seconds,
I only twigged it that it slided out the front of the slide !
Big Homer DoH!! for me :o

The WE magazine and the Army branded magazines are not compatible. Both dont work for me! every single magazine I have like this (with the exception of one mag from another gun) dont appear to hold the gas. I fill them,
it feels like gas is going in and not leaking and yet I get 2-3 shot and the mag is totally empty. I've stripped the mags before checked things yet the mags dont seem to fill fully!

The WE gold M92F also has an amazing finish to it,
there is nothing about this being a Limited edition
or being made with real gold plate.
There are two versions of this released there is the
Special Forces version with a phrase "leave no man behind" and the PB version I got which has
    "Pietro Beretta" markings on it.

It comes with 2 sets of cheap plastic grips, one set
has the WE logo on them the other has a Beretta on them.

    Img_1146.jpg

The inner barrel has been slightly countersunk but not
as much as the socom 1911 and it has not been polished.
    Img_1149.jpg

The outer barrel comes out from the back of the slide.
It has a really annoying tiny little spring that pops out and can easily go missing near the chamber thats used to put pressure on a hinged part of the gun. Beware of this.

Heres it with slide off, I did not seperate the outer and inner barrel cos I could not be arsed risking loosing that little spring already mentioned.

The Army Branded MEU is a little more crude and rough around the edges (with some sharp burrs on the metal)
The finish on this is more like the finish you would find on
a "Spanner" only gold coloured. It came with standard Black plastic grips with wrap around bit and also came with a set of real wood grips featured in the pics.

A nice touch was Army also included a spare nozzle, hopup
bucking and some small spare o-rings. That was nice.

The safety catch has a habbit of going into safe mode and
the most inconveniant times, Also when trying to put back on the slide sometimes it wont go on and you need to push down some pieces on the body of the pistol to get the slide to go on due to the roughness and fit of the slide.

Its also fiddly to put the slide locking pun back in due to
the spring loaded piece on the left side of the pistol grip not moving backwards when putting the pin back in.

    Img_1153.jpg

I like the idea that the Trads are actually stamped or molded into the metal of the gun rather than just been silk screened or laser etched.

@Bullets: WE & Socom Gear tend to use deep Magazine welss where the gas cannister's feeding tube cannot form a proper seal with the fill valve. You need yourself one of these

I'm tempted to get the 24k 1911...let me know how she fires bullets...
also I found the ultra air green gas canisters can just about reach the nozzle and get gas into it..at least on the Socom Gear M1911 MEU I had before...
