We're building a new house, want to put oil stove in living room as room heater. Have talked to a couple suppliers who have both indicated there can be problems with oil stoves such as down draughts and that plumbers don't like them! Has anybody any experience of these, thinking specifically of a Stanley Tara or something similar.
also thinking of gas flueless stove in basement where there is no chimney - any advice on that?
    thanks in advance.

Plumbers don't like them because usually the people putting them in don't realise the work involved in installing them. My tip is oversize the KW output if you want it for heating rads. However they are a nice addition to a house.
