    Hi Folks,
Looking into Kinnity as a venue for 2012, but am a little worried about the fact that it was/is in receivership.
Has anyone been to a wedding/got married here recently and could give me some ideas about it, particularly about prices and deals.
    Thanks!

Don't know anything about it so I can't help you, sorry, but googled and came across their website and google is telling me it's in Estonian and asking would I like to translate it. Google has gone mad.

Their website is useless and hasn't been updated in years. I'd be interested in Kinnity myself but it would probably involve an actual visit to get any information out of them.

Youre looking at the wrong website I'd imagine. The old one is still up for some reason try www.kinnittycastlehotel.com

The old website is owned by the previous owner and thats the reason its still there.

I do work for the hotel and all is going well, they have a great management team there now and Rachel the wedding co ord is very good and is there a few years as well so knows her venue and product.

As for the finances, the banks are running it but the management are in full control and are bringing the property back to where it was a few years ago.

I personally have dealt with Kinnitty for 15 yrs and its now run better than it ever was...........oh and if you need and more info pop me a PM.

I was at a wedding here in October, its a nice place, food mediocre never had good food at a wedding though) but the room was FREEZING, make sure they have the heating on!

The couple were wondering about receivership but took out wedding insurance for peace of mind and there were no problems. TBH every second hotel is in the same boat so I would not be too worried.

    Hey,

I viewed it there during the summer. At the time they had a wedding package priced at €65-a-head (i think)

The castle is pretty cool and is pretty well maintained. The room was a bit unusual, quite long, narrow and L-Shaped iirc.

We didnt go with it in the end, we heard that the kitchen is a long way from the room and the food isnt always hot when served.
We also got the impression that it was being run into the ground a little, losing some of its exclusivity.

Kitchen is right beside the room, there is another kitchen in the made hotel that will deal with the bar etc !

The place is being run a lot better now than it was in the past, that i can vouch for:)

Went looking there yesterday. Nice building, alas very remote. At least 30 miles from any motorway. Banqueting area would defo not fill people 'comfortably' over 100. Disabled people would feel left out. Shame. Plus felt 'this is what 'we' do for you' rather than 'what would you like to do at your wedding ?'
