Franked Mail Only Machines question

    HI. I really don't know where to post this question but this is the only thread where I found a topic remotely similar to my query. Anyway, I'm having a big worry about what I did earlier. I accidentally put a stamped a4 envelope on the big green postage machine in town. I just realised it said "franked mail only" or something like that. I don't know what to do! I assumed it was ok but now that I think about it, maybe not. Please help! Does anybody know if the mail would still be posted?? I hope they won't discard it. :confused:

    Do you mean you put it in one of the post boxes that says "Franked Mail Only"? As far as I know, the only real difference is that the payment of postage is verified differently. Its possible for the machines to sort slightly quicker if they scan all the franked mail first, then the stamped mail or vice versa or a different machine is used

    I suspect what will happen is that the machine that checks the franked mail will reject that one envelope, it gets set aside and then verified either by putting it in the stamped batch or it is checked manually. Your post is likely to arrive, albeit, there might be a delay of up to a day.
