    Hi guys

To make a long story short im back on anti depressants and im on lexapro. (havn't been on this particular type before)

Anyways i take them before i go to bed at night and im seriously tired all day long. i dont think its a symptom of the depression cos Im feeling good for the first time in ages but this constant sleepiness is taking the p###,

I realise that these tablets are slow releasing but when is the best time to take them? Any advice is appreciated

Personally have to agree with this, but you really should speak to your doctor.

I'm on lexapro. When I started I took them right before beed, and I had awful insomnia for months, was in such a bad mood then because I was tired all the time. So I did a bit of googling and anyway I switched to taking mine first thing in the morning and the problem was basically solved. I still get insomnia sometimes but its almost definitely not from the meds. Others have had this problem with lexapro, so try taking it in the morning and see if it works for you.

hi op,from my own past experience on anti depps i used to take them when i was finished work or if you are unlucky to be unemployed i took them like at four clock in afternoon, basically i took them when i didn't have to drive or do any task or go to any event/meeting,hope this helps.

I'm on medication for something else, and had been taking one of my tablets first thing every morning. At a hospital check-up a nurse mentioned in passing that it was better to take the tablet in the evening, and a quick chat with my local pharmacist confirmed that. I suggest you do the same. Cheaper than going to the doctor to find out. :)
