    Just thought I'd open a thread about Non-English speaking films as there are a load of gems out there.

    To get the ball rolling - "La Haine"

    I saw this in Screen in Dublin back in the day and thought it was brilliant. It was my first sight of the excellent actor Vincent Cassel and it was an honest, raw view of project-life in Paris over the space of 24 hrs. Top film.

    Anyone got others to look into?

    because nobody is explaining their choices. They are just listing the names of films. This thread is particularly useless as it isn't even defining films within a genre, but rather merely an irrelevant aspect of the film.     The Films Forum is for discussion, not making lists. If you wish to talk about something be prepared to outline why you are mentioning it. Don't simpley write:
    Film X
    Film Y
    Film Z
    It's unimaginative, it's boring and nobody wants to read it. Any such threads will be locked or deleted!

    Sorry folks, the thread has just descended into a list of films which doesnt inspire discussion so Im going to lock the thread. There was a great thread some time ago about World Cinema that you may be interested in having a look at.
