Like, any stats on how many PGDE students actually manage to find work following their courses and what sort it is.

I'm presuming there's not for last year yet, given no one has asked me (or am I just being egotistical and there's a way for them to check without actually just asking people). I'd be interested to know how many people complete their PGDE and how much work they find after it, how long it takes them on average to find work, how many are now on the dole, etc etc.

Permanent aul fella meself but Id imagine based on reports here to avoid disappointment Id assume its close to ZERO!REALLY hard out there .I guess most would be lucky to get steady quarter-half hours subbing every now and then .Sooo many experienced teachers out of work...By rights PGDE should probably be suspended for a year or two minimum ....Entry to Gardai is similar isnt it ?
