third party extension query

    hi
ive been insured with quinn for 3 years but this year my renewal is 500e more expensive than last year. they wont budge on price. my big issue is im under 25 and use quinn's 3rd part extension option so i can drive the girlfriends car or some one else's if my car is in the garage or something. i find this really useful

i am getting cheaper quotes but most other insurers don't give 3rd party extension to under 25's. do ye know of any? would prefer not to give quinn the money if i dont have to.

i live on the border of tipp and limerick. if my house was 100 yards to the left in tipp my insurance would be 450e cheaper. madness. asked them about this and they said limerick has a higher claims ratio or some crap.

    hope ye can help.

You want a third party extension not open drive.
Open drive means that anybody can jump into your car and be covered by insurance.
Third party extension is what enables you to be covered to drive other peoples cars

Only if your insurance policy says you can. Not all do.

The only way to find out for sure is to ring every insurer and broker in the book until you find one that offers the policy you want.

Both Hibernian and AXA have the same on their policies AFAIK.

I used to be FC with Quinn but went for TPFT instead this year, knocked about 400 off my quote and I still kept the 3rd party extension.

axa do it but not if ya drive for a living, they added it for me after arguing that no cars are used in work, i drive a truck
i had to threaten that i wouldnt renew the policy if they wouldnt give it but aviva came in at 400 cheaper so ya can guess where i went
