    So,

what are your favourites? I think there's nothing better than a good music dvd. While it's not the same as being at a gig, when they are done well, they are great.

    Some of my faves are:

    RHCP at Slane
    Incubus at Red Rocks
    Metallica: Cunning Stunts
    COC: Live Volume
    Sigur Ros: Heima
    Planxty: Live from Vicar Street
    John Butler Trio: Max sessions
    Silverchair: Across the Night
    Pearl Jam: Imagine in Cornice
Pearl Jam: Live at the Garden
    Stone Temple Pilots: compilation dvd
    Page/Plant: live dvd

I confess to having something of a shortage. But the ones I do:

Runnin Down a Dream - I've raved elusively about Petty in former posts. This movie is brilliant and, without knowing it, it probably contributed to a big part of my Heartbreakers knowledge base

Don't Look back and No Direction Home - Need I say more?

I've a few compilations too which are sporadically good and bad like "Old Grey Whistle Test" - The good stuff being the likes of Political Science, American Girl. But all that "progressive rock" or whatever ya call it, that bull**** which appeals to the underground music fan which most people forget and for good reason, Whistle test is chalk full of it.

Queen Rock Montreal - amazing stuff altogether, them in their prime, surreal performance despite a shítty crowd to say the least.

Rammstein Live Aus Berlin -mental show, plenty of songs blow the mind at it completely, hard to believe twas after a mere 2 albums, sound is not the best for it though, Flakes keyboards for instance are way to low on weisses fleisch

Rammstein Volkerball - as mental if not more so than Berlin, i feel that this show really manages to capture what its like to witness the spectacle of one of their gigs

    Oasis - Live in Manchester
My DVD collection is a pale shadow of my CD collection but I put that down to a lack of a large TV and surround sound speaker system.

You should check out the Time Flies DVD - Noel's commentary on all the videos is legendary stuff. Funny bastard.
