Installed Windows 7 - safe enough to just select and delete Vista Backup?

    Formatted C partition (had Vista) and installed fresh Windows7, the Dell factory image (.wim file) of Vista is still within the D "recovery" partition. Is it pretty much safe to just select the files in the D partition and delete them?

    The recovery stuff would all be Vista which I don't want anymore now that I have 7 - so just checking that by deleting the files in the Recovery partition it shouldn't cause any troubles. The partition does have some other files but I didn't put them there so I'm presuming they are all from the Vista recovery back-ups.

    W7 can't create a backup because the 10GB of space in D is full due the to Vista recovery stuff.

    Yes it is safe to delete the files in the recovery partition.

    You could delete the 10 gig partition and increase the size of your C drive to populate the 10 gigs that are left.

    yup i can confirm it. First time i just migrated and left old files. And after a while i just deleted it.
