DTT Digital Text-Time & Date query

    Hi folks,

Two of my TV's are DTT compatible.

One is a Toshiba 37 RV635 bought in May, the other is a 22 inch LG bought in June.

I just noticed something about the text.

When you activate the digital text on the Tosh the time and date it shows are never the actual time! It could be a few hours earlier or even a few hours ahead. Otherwise not a prob and the text info is fully up to date etc and it works like a rocket. Also the on screen information on all the other digital channels is way superior to the LG telly.

However, when you activate the digital text on the LG tv the time and date are always spot on but the text does not operate quite as fast as the Tosh. I assume thats because its smaller tv etc.

Its not something that is even remotely important really, but I was just curious if anyone has come across it or knows what it could be. I have gone through all the TV settings and the actual time that comes up when you go into each digital channel is spot on.

    thanks

Did you install with Ireland as the region/country? Could it have anything to do with the time zone/dst setting within the menu?

I don't know the menu structure of the Tosh but in my Sonys the time zone is set to GMT and Auto DST to on. Can't think of anything else.

thanks. actually you got me thinking so what I have done is I have rescanned for the dtv channels using "other" countries instead so now I can watch the digital channels but with the old traditional aertel which is like a rocket.

I think I'll stick with it until ASO and reluctantly go back to the new digital text, some of the features of which I don't like.
