Assuming that there would be a lot going on at the Dail today, I check their live stream only to find out that they are adjourned until Tuesday afternoon.

Considering what going on today and in th next few days, this can't be right, can it?

I looked at that too a couple of hours ago and couldn't believe they had shut up shop in the Dail and Senate and taken a long weekend off.

Edit to suggest that maybe they're all in their offices shredding like crazy !!!

The Dáil has always been Tue-Thu. Why would it change. It's not like the ministers aren't working. Do you spend most of your time in meetings or at your desk?

Its a 3 day week in the Dáil, unlike in the real world.

How do you know what they're doing ? They have a budget and probably a General election coming up, the IMF are in the country trying to sort out the mess they've made of it, surely you'd think they'd have something to talk about.

maybe they're having informal meetings in the Dail bar

They are all heading to Donegal to canvass. Disgraceful really, our whole political system is dysfunctional.

If there is an emergency situation in my work, we tend to have emergency meetings to discuss the issue, understand the consequences, identify possible measures, agree on action points and how to manage risks.

The vast majority of those activities require meetings and can hardly be done individually.

But maybe you are right and we are overdoing it where I work.
