5th gen nano won't turn on.

    My iPod nano 5th gen has stopped working -again- and this time I can't open itunes to reset it.
    Next move?

    have ya tried to reset it, flick the hold switch on and off and then hold the select and menu button together until the apple logo appears

    try next step: with cable connected and iTunes open, push power button and quick push BOTH power and home button for 10 secs, release power button but HOLD home button pushed for aprox. 30 secs, till you see computer starts to install drivers. You should be able to sort it out in this way (debug mode). If not, try to do the same steps on different computer. I did that yesterday with my iPhone 4 and in this way i could reinstall the firmware.

    It decided to wake up this evening, after I had un/reinstallediTunes etc. etc.
    I will note this sequence of button presses for the next time.:):)

    It's annoying when it goes gaga like this, specially when this model appears to have been discontinued. The nano 6 is a different machine altogether.

    i'm fairly sure what you described is the sequence for an ipod touch
