Would any be interested in the Irish Multi Marathon if it had a full marathon next year. I know its a long way away, approx 8 months but Eoin Rayn the race director has indicated if he got the numbers he would put it on.
Any suggestions are welcome and i have no financial interest the race. I would like to see it on because i love the area and i think the course is great.

What's a multi-marathon? Is it an Ultra event with choice of running a single marathon?

Na its called multi marathon cause it has a few different races, kids race, half and half relay. It was eventually to include a marathon when demand was there. Hence this thread:D

Surely it can still be run if there's only 20 or so people. It would hardly be the first marathon in the country to have such small numbers.

Has to be viable also. They are not going to lose money. I suppose there has to be a minimum number.

I seriously doubt they're going to lose money from letting people do an extra lap...

From the 2010 results 14 entrants(including teams) finished in over 3 hours, slowest finisher was 3:47. So the route would be open long enough surely for a small number to do a marathon? Or would only have to be kept open an extra hour on last year, only thing that would probably go up would be the insurance costs maybe? Which I'm sure could easily be made up by the inevitable extra charge for the second lap.

Yeah good point. Didnt realise there were people out there for 3.47.
I suppose we are waiting for eoin ryans input on numbers.
