I see Sky have added 25p on the 10£ HD subs in the UK for the VAT increases. I wonder how much it will be here?

Does their greed know no end ?
No doubt it will be 50c here .
They could easily absorb that Vat increase ,charging for HD in the first place is a farce.

Well for me the greed of sky has reached the point to go freesat HD.
And the money saved towards a newer car in a few years!

Since the VAT inclusive prices will increase by 2.13% as a result of the UK rate change then that is how much the subscription should increase by. If it goes up by any more then they are also increasing the basic sub.

There is no VAT increase here so the price should stay the same.

Sky use the UK VAT rates, they have somehow managed to avoid having to register for VAT in Ireland.

i will bet it will go up €1 on the basic packs €2.20 each pack after and then the sports will be another €2.50 plus another 50c on HD and multiroom.

I agree, as the VAT rate is not going to change here, then they cant (morally) change the prices here because of the UK VAT change in the new year, I note our price did not go down when the UK VAT was @15%

SKY do not pay VAT to the Irish exchequer this is a fact. They charge VAT to Irish customers at the UK rate, the VAT in the UK went up so don't be surprised to see it go up here. If the price they charge here doesn't go up it's nothing to do with them being moral, it's them trying to keep there customer base who already pay well over the odds(albeit it willing).

Actually it did. And then it went up again when they reverted back to 17.5%

Not to mention the variances in exchange rates, the recent Haye V Harrison on Sky Box Office had a rate of 1.47, €21.05 V $14.95, thats was the rates 3 years ago between € and £, as regards the drop in the price when the UK VAT rate was 15%, I did not notice the drop, but looking at their bill always brings tears to me eyes anyway, Sky is the limit.
