Are Borlotti beans available in Ireland? If so where can I get them, do Tesco sell them? And how much do they cost exactly?

    Thanks!

I saw them in an Italian deli in Inchicore, but thats over a year ago now, so i don't know if they still have them in stock. I think the name is Enoteca Torino, on Grattan crescent, same side as the Black Lion pub.

You'll probably find Fallon and Byrne stock them, but i've always found their prices over inflated.

Why does every boards user from dublin think every other user is also from dublin?

What the hell is Fallon and Byrne?

Try to be a little more respectful, you didn't specify where you are from for starters, and Shinikins was speaking from personal experience as you only asked where in Ireland they're for sale.

I'd try whatever fresh produce market is closest to you, ask around there, this forum is a good resource for food information, but I'd prefer to get out there and discover for myself.

Couldn't tell ya, I'm live in Westmeath myself, just recently moved from Laois!

You could try substituting with Haricot beans, or Cannellini, both from the same family and should be fairly similar in flavour.

OK jambo it's true I didn't specify where I'm from, sorry Shinkins, but I was asking about Tesco and the big shops.

By the way why do you call yourself Jambo? Do you speak the aul Swahili? I didn't specify a town in Ireland because I'm in Kenya right now, was just wondering about the bigger countrywide shops.

Got them in English Market in Cork, can't remember name of stall, they specialise in oriental foods, something like €2 for a large pack

haha, I know it's a Swahili greeting, and a famous Gorilla, but I don't call myself Jambo, my name's James and it's just a nickname that stuck :P

I looked them up on the Tesco website, and they do tins of them for about 29p or so, it's worth having a friendly word with the manager in the local one to see if they'll order them in for you.

Right, I also thought that it could be slang for a jam sandwich!

Anyways will check with Tesco thanks.
