    Howdy...

Relatively new to Ubuntu, I have it on my main laptop at home.

I'm thinking about installing it on a netbook i use for work and travel.

However O2 tell me their Qualcomm 3G dongles arent compatible...is there a work-around? or Should i just stick with windows for the sake of an easy life?

Not compatible with Ubuntu or the netbook?
If it's the former you can test it on your laptop?
Or dual boot the netbook if possible, Ubuntu doesn't need too much space, 4 or 5GBs would do for testing, or install it with Wubi (install it within Windows), those ways you keep WIndows on the netbook.

I used the old Huawei E1752 dongle for O2 mobile broadband for months with no problems on Ubuntu.

I use the E1752 and E1752c on Ubuntu 10.10 as well with no problems. It actually runs better than on Windows. I can't remember exactly what I did but there are some on line tutorials/forums that will help. If I find the ones I used I'll post them.
