Handling Fee: Charges as follows: €5 per person or equivalent, per flight. Flights originating in the USA/Canada, Infant Bookings and Bookings using Visa Electron are not subject to the handling fee.

Just seen this on the Aerlingus website... per person or equivalent... what on earth does that mean?

Just in case an alien tries to book an Aerlingus flight I guess, gotta have all your bases covered!

I think it's for when you try to bring an undead person on board.

Or maybe not. Can't be too sure.

Refers to people making group bookings. You'd be suprised how stupid some people are.

Just in case you're not joking, they mean the equivalent of €5 in other currencies.

If you ARE joking, carry on!

Handling fee €5 per person - one person booking one flight for one person = €5. One person booking one flight for 5 people = €25. Have heard it said 'but only one person booked the flights for all of us, so it should only be one handling charge...

I was thinking that but in that case surely it should read
Handling Fee: Charges as follows: €5, or equivalent, per person, per flight. Flights originating in the USA/Canada, Infant Bookings and Bookings using Visa Electron are not subject to the handling fee.
But maybe I'm being too pernickety?

It applies if only your "OH" is travelling. Then it's only €2.50.
