    Afternoon folks,

I feel the time has come to upgrade my current laptop (HP Pavillion DV200, Intel Centrino Duo, 4GB of RAM, cost me €1100 new about 5 years ago  ). Current processing power is 1.66GHz and the laptop is constantly over-heating (86 degrees last night) and it automatically shuts down as a precaution...not what you want to happen when in the middle of typing a project or watching a movie!

So I'm thinking it's time to go ahead and spend a few euro on a new laptop. Here are the requirements...
    Budget: €600 - €1200
    Processor: iCore 5
    RAM: min of 4GB
    Processing power: minimum 2.2ghZ
Size: max 15", smaller the better
Must be lightweight, battery power of 6 hours +, good speakers, 1.3mp webcam would be a bonus
Use: lots of multitasking, not needed for gaming.

I've come across this one http://reviews.cnet.co.uk/laptops/toshiba-satellite-r630-review-50000725/ and it seems to get good reviews, but I'm open to suggestions on everything!

Thanks in advance for your time!

    Cul :)

I've also come accross this one on laptopsdirect.ie

    http://www.laptopsdirect.ie/Sony_VAIO_S12V9E-B_Core_i5_Laptop_VPCS12V9EB/version.asp

The specs seem fairly savage, but once again, I'd appreciate any opinions on same!

By far the best 13inch on the market outside of the sony V series (if you have money to burn!). Dual fans make run unbelievably cool and quiet.

Shame its only available with the HD 5470 (abit better than the 310M you were looking at) in Uk/Irish market. But as you are not gaming it shouldnt bother you.

Unless you go down the exporting route like me...which will get you an awesome 5650 gpu for about the same price but requires keyboard mod from europe or abit of fun with customs from Taiwan! ;)
