Lexmark X5495 won't accept Remanufactured cartridges

Hi, Folks. Help required. I have a Lexmark X5495 all-in-one printer. It will not accept remanufactured,or refilled, or compatible cartridges. I could get an Epson SX215 to work with compatible cartridges no problem. How can I make the Lexmark do likewise?
