    Hi all,

Can any of the virtual experts out there tell me if it is possible to take a snapshot of an XP home edition Operating System and then use that OS snapshot as the XP mode OS in Windows 7. Basically I want to replace the XP mode OS on my windows 7 desktop with the XP home edition image on my laptop. Thanks.

unlikely since XP gets fairly snotty when it detects changes in hardware , that is if it even boots since the HDD controller will be different betwenn VM and physical machine

unless there is a way of importing it through something like VMware

XP mode isn't really designed with that kind of use in mind tbh... I'd say you're better off using VMware or Virtualbox for that.
Use something like ghost to create an image, then import that to a new VM

As the Cap'n said, it'll be messy if it even works!
