i had a new corsa on hire, and the piece of plastic above the speedo that shields it from the sun etc, in behind the steering wheel, was loose, and there was a creaking going round corners. didnt inspire much confidence. my missus was going to buy one, it put me off and got the yaris instead

for a budget of around 11.5k what would you guys recommend? I'm gunna get something new under the scrappage scheme.

So far i'm considering the Hyundai i20, the 5dr Renault Clio 1.2 hatchback, the 5 dr yaris and now the Opel Corsa

Am I missing anything else thats in or around my budget?

Or would anyone recommend any of the cars I have mentioned

    Cheers guys

No news of the scheme being extended into 2011 is there?

Wont know until after the budget I guess but I was talking to a Hyundai dealer and he said they had it on good word that it will be extended for at least 6 months.

And from a different Hyundai dealer, Hyundai are cutting their scrappage allowance from 1st Jan. Think this might be a scare tactic though. The guy who I am actually thinking of buying from mentioned anything about it.

May or may not be of some relevance to the OP but the Corsa is getting a midlife facelift for 2011. I think it goes on sale in Feb/March.
