    Morning All,

Have to write up a Bio sharpish. Could anyone suggest the 'do not leave out' points? or whats not usually put in that is really good to include?

    All help really appreciated.

Start at the end, meaning, talk about the band right now, not how it formed from the start. Biographies should be approx. 3-4 small paragraphs.

The opening should be a quick introduction and what the band are doing right now; releasing an album, going on tour, etc. Also, include: what genre does the band play? Where does the band come from?

You can go into a bit of background in the other paragraphs; but leave out all the line-up changes, in other words don’t bore people with the ins and outs of how the band formed. That’s something for die-hard fans to read about in a few years.

Just mention who currently plays in the band, past notable achievements, and use any previous good press quotes if you have them.

It's hard work. I've written a few in my time and in some cases took days of editing. Reading other band biographies will help, as well as the back of book and DVD summaries, as these have all been written by PR people. Good for ideas.

    Thanks!

Im on my own so line up changes are minimal - thats a great idea about looking at back of DVD, will definitely do that!
I'm hoping to keep it short & sweet so am looking up other similar acts & printing out their Bio's to look at wording, Its all about selling, so have to use the right lingo. Thanks :D
