    It's on Setanta though.

I see Williams taking a decision.

Pretty sure its on saturday night.

It's going to be a great fight, if Pac fights the winner I'll wet myself with excitement regardless of who it is.

Pacman wont be fighting the winner as the WBC has mandated that the winner of Martinez vs Williams must fight Sebastain Zbik by March 2011 or lose the belt.

If Pacman does want to fight for the lineal middle weight championship he must wait until late summer 2011 at least.

Definite potential for fight of the year this one. I'm really hoping Martinez does the business here but i'd slightly fancy Williams to win it.

As for Pac, he's recently ruled out ever fighting Williams (think he actually laughed when asked). Either of these guys would be a step too far for him

I didn't know that. Coverage starts at 2am on Setanta Ireland. They had the Mosley-Mora card on a month or two ago as well, seems like they pick up the odd card.

Am looking forward to this one. The first fight was a cracker, and I have a feeling that tonight will be more of the same.

It was as about as useful as the ring reporter asking Williams what happened... "I didn't see it"... we saw that kid. Could Pac take that punch-power?

He could if he fights him at 150 catchweight:D
Any chance of Andy Lee is the ring with Martinez or is that suicide?

You'd have to think so, Lee has been rocked by fighters with far less power, and he might have to come down from super-middle, he fought at 163 last time out, Martinez has come up to 160 but generally boxes around the mid 150's

There's more money for Martinez in looking to make a match with Floyd or Pac anyway

I didn't think Enzo would be beaten for Knockout of the year, but that actually looks tame compared to Williams last night

Martinez must surely win Fighter of the the Year now

Would never happen, he'd destroy either and I don't think he can get the weight down anywhere close, think he had to loose alot of weight quickly to make this one

What a KO! Came from nowhere. Sergio Martinez is serious business.

The commentators last night were saying that Floyd wanted to fight the winner for the Middleweight belts

You can be sure that's the last we hear of it:rolleyes:

Williams is lucky he didn't crack his chin after that fall:pac:

It's alway the punch you don't see it coming... He walked Williams right into it. It wasn't so much the power, rather the technique involved and the fact it landed bang on the chin. I wonder will we see a rematch betwen Pavlik v Martinez. Well i suppose there are more lucrative fights out there for Martinez

Somebody who knows boxing ^^^^ 20% power 80% timing and accuracy. Lovely counterpuncher Martinez but i will eat my hat if he does that to a real middle weight and not a open skinny 147lbs pound fighter.

I will eat my hat , shoes , socks, shirt and everything else if he does that to career long middle weight.

Enzo's knockout is still my pick of the year, he should never have been allowed to continue after the first knockdown. The way his head twisted back, unreal.

Agree. He's got slightly greater than 50% knockout ratio, which is ok, but not brilliant. Can't take away that it was a great shot though.

Your not suggesting Paul Williams is a natural 147 lbs fighter !! ....surely

Your not suggesting a real middle weight could make 154lbs? let alone 147lbs.
Height has nothing to do with what your natural boxing weight , its what ever you can make and perform well at.
Paul williams is no middle weight especially if he can still burn down to 154lbs. No real middle weight can fight at that weight.

By that logic Sugar Ray Robinson (6ft) or Tommy Hearns (6ft 1) weren't "natural" welters either?

They're not height divisions, they're weight divisions!

Williams never showed any strain making welter (high workrate, excellent stamina and good chin) and has often said since that he could still make it.

I never mentioned anything about height ,.... that was Kelly Green who brought that one up .

    P.W says he's comfortable at 147 ?
We been reading different quotes then over the last while , .... I read he is never going back to 147 , and the fighters at 147 wont go near him either .

His last fight at 147 was 2 and a half years ago ,srtuggling with a tight win over Marg , and both winning and losing to Quintana and now @ 29 years old he would struggle .
I'll eat my hat if he ever agrees to fight at welter again .

From your statement it looked like you were saying Williams was never a "natural" welter? And like Kelly Green I reasonably assumed you were saying that because he's so tall.

Why I don't know, as I already mentioned I thought he was very impressive (and avoided) there. His win over Margarito was regarded as a huge win at the time. He was outboxed by Quintana (he can be outsmarted, as we have since seen) but the rematch was pretty spectacular. Basically he ended up moving up in weight in order to get fights as there was no way any of the top welters wanted anything to do with him - especially Mayweather (had to get that one in).

At this stage I suppose he won't be looking at welter again, but I've no doubt he can comfortably make 11 stone.

    Well , I just mean currently .

But the point I was trying to make was that Martinez is well capable of repeating that againt a seasoned middleweight .
He's a very under-rated fighter , and I say it here every time he fights .

Williams is closer to being a middleweight than a welterweight right now , and is only getting heavier as he ages .

I'd say the difference between making 147 and 154lbs is massive when you're on the brink .
11 stone yes , but at 10 1/2 stone he must sacrifice too much.

Then again , big guys can sometimes make extraordinary weights for their size .
I could never believed Khan fit the suit of a 135lb fighter . He has always looked massive in the ring .

Couldn't agree with you more. He's a very tricky, smart and tough fighter.
