    Hi folks,

I'm looking to buy my girlfriend a laptop for Christmas. She has a MAC thats gone WHACK hence she's in the market for a new piece of kit. The thing is, she would prefer a Windows based machine - she's uses Windows in work so now feels more comfortable using it.

Ideally, I'm looking for a machine with the following:

Screen resolution: Screen wide enough to fit two internet windows side by side comfortably.

Graphics Card:If possible, a dedicated graphics card to keep things running smoothly!

    RAM: 2gb +

    Processor: Intel Duo or better

I have had a look around and I'm a bit confused at this stage. I'm a recovering technophobe... and whilst I think a certain laptop is the bees'... someone in know may think it's a piece of you know what...

I think I've found a suitable laptop - a Dell Studio - excellent screen resolution (1600 x 900) and it appears to fit the bill. Speaking of the bill... it's coming in at around €800. Whilst I know that this isn't too much money to spend on a decent laptop... it's coming in slightly over budget...

So my question is... can anyone suggest a laptop, the meets my spec criteria, and comes in at under €800?

    Cheers,

    Dutchy
