Anyone else getting 'Freezing' issues?

Twice today I've had to switch off my PS3 because the game froze on me. Ironically in both games I was doing quite well and my team were pasting the enemy :pac:

Basically, mid knife kill just now, the game just froze completely, crystal clear picture of my knife embedded in teh enemy and a '100' point marker on the screen.

Has this happened anyone else?

Froze on me twice - both happened in a menu though - went to create a class after attempting to find a game and it froze

Yep, happened to me a few days ago, once only though as I havent being playing the game much :rolleyes:

Never during a game but had a few freezes in the menus and host migrations.

yeah happened twice to me tonight. Once when I was calling in my care package and another time when i tried to knife someone, really annoying glad its not just me do :pac:

Mine has been freezing in the lobby, not in-game.

Matchmaking for me last night was atrocious. Would spend 5 minutes waiting for a game, would join a lobby then lobby would close. Eventually, I'd get started a game, go through a host migration but not finding a suitable host. It really annoyed me last night for the first time since I bought it.

Never during the game , but froze on me once when starting a game, TBH i Modern Warfare 2 had the same problems at the start. So it will get better

I have had my ps3 for two years and have never had any issues with it. When I got Black ops I started having problems. I started straight away with multiplayer games. Few times it froze and I had to restart the playstation. I thought that maybe it was just the multi player games so I went onto the single player mode. Played it for about 1 hour. At one point in the game it froze. I left it for a while. After about 15 minutes the game was still frozen to I performed a manual shutdown.

I restarted the system and the disc was not found. This was strange so I ejected the disc and restarted the system. I then put in another game (Far Cry2). The game started and then froze. At this point I knew something was wrong. I shutdown the playstation and set it up to go to the maintenance screen. In there I attempted a file restore. It reported that some of the file had been corrupt. When this was finished fixing the files I started the blackops game again and it froze. I went back into maintenance, performed file restore and a DB restore. When I restarted the playstation I checked Far Cry2 again. Worked! Then tried a Blu Ray movie and that worked too. So at this point I thought all was good and put back in Black ops.

Bad Idea! Played for about an hour in the single player mode getting back to the point I was at when the issue for happened. Once I reached that point again the playstation froze again and the same issue was back. It seems that the game is corrupting the system. It is a major nightmare. I work in the software dev industry and this is one of the worst bugs I have ever seen. It is too late to restore everything again this evening but I am going to try and sort it out tomorrow. I will report back and let you guys know how I get on but I tell you this much.I will not be putting that game back into my PS3. It is deffo the cause of this issue. The Dev guys on this game have messed up big and the testing was not good enough to find this issue.
