Why is there diversity in Strategy?

I've currently doing an essay on this question and just wondering does anyone have any insights into the question?

Also not sure if this is the right section, but it seems the most relevant!

    Not sure of your meaning?.

    To mitigate risk.

Think of it in terms of a military point of view. An army must have one or
more "fall back" strategies if the main strategy fails. Same applies to the business world.
