Yeah, I have to agree there, Villagers will probably win this.
I'd love to see So Cow,Grand Pocket Orchestra, Porn on Vinyl, Nouveau Noise get some recognition for their brilliant albums released this year. I've never really seen the point of music competitions, though.

Maybe it's just me but a few days ago So Cow didn't seem to be on that list.

    Thankfully they are now.

I'd love to see Hipster Youth, Nouveaunoise, Jogging, Meljoann and No Monster Club get mentioned. It's highly unlikely any of them will unfortunately. It'd be downright ridiculous if Adebisi didn't make the shortlist though, seriously brilliant album.

Villagers will probably win, which would be a shame. There have been several albums more impressive than that this year.

Album of the Year for me would Groom's album Marriage.
Just a massively developed album, filled with great tunes (and horns).

Here is the single, This Golden Age, which was on Under Ether (?) the show on RTE a few weeks back.

I'd like to see the Strands album nominated too. Outstanding stuff.
I think fans of Sufjan Stevens instrumental stuff will like it.

These competitions do get bands/artists some more recognition and help increase album sales so i'm all for them

Big fan of Strands, the album is a beauty. Such a well written group of songs, very well composed, performed and recorded.
