    Hi Folks,

I have a 3GS that is a little ropey. In the UK when an iPhone is under warranty I believe they will replace the whole phone for about £150. Does anyone know if Apple do the same here? I wouldn't mind paying for a replacement if it was a reasonable price. Repairs looking at €150 so anything around that is a bonus!

    ironclaw.

why would you have to pay for a replacement iphone if it IS in warranty?

surely they will fix it and send it back to you all hunky dory?

I'd be looking for a full phone replacement i.e. An entirely new handset. Its a nice gesture of Apple to offer a replacement for a nominal cost. I asked in Victoria Square and they basically said they replace them for any reason if they are within warranty.

I called Apple tonight. Its €211 outside warranty for a repair. There is standard charge inside warranty. A replacement handset can be given for free if it has a known defect.

so you have damaged the fone yourself, and just want another one to replace it with?

Basically it has developed the cracks that the 3GS case was plagued with. I'm more than happy to pay for it!

Is that not covered for replacement by the warranty for free? I am starting to notice those on mine, only a small number of months old.
