Hi im just after getting a job after two years rotting on the dole and would like some help.

This might seem lazy on my behalf but im wondering how much i would have to make to come out with 400 euro after tax etc.. i dont know what gets deducted these days levies etc.. as its been few years since i collected a wage so dont know of any changes since i left the work force

Im a single male living at parents, no mortgage , no children, nothing out of the norm.

    Thanks in advance.

it is lazy on your behalf.

As it's late in the year, you'll have all your tax credits t use up this year so it's best to start from January

you'll pay 20% of your gross in income tax, i.e. one euro in five, but you get a credit of 70 per week. ( you get a credit of 3660 for the year - so that'd be 522 a week til new years.... only off yer tax though, no money back to ya.)

Then there's prsi and levys and stuff.

So if you earned 500 gross before tax, there'd be 100 tax, but you get 70 credit
    so that's 470.

you'd pay bout a tenner income levy and not sure about prsi but probably 30 or so.

so I reckon about 470 should give you 400

but the prsi and levys are complicated - so I wouldn't be surprised if the prsi was less.
